  • A visit from the Puffins

    We were delighted to host the Year 1 Puffins from Hope this morning. They joined the Swallows for a morning of space fun - blasting off together for an adventure out of this world; writing diary entries from visits to space stations and helping each other to build junk model rockets. 
  • Our Christingle Service

    We had a lovely collective Worship in church this morning. The children had made 'christingles' at craft club and we took them down for our service with Simon. We talked about the significance of the red ribbon, the sticks, sweets and the orange. We reflected on how the Children's Society supports those in need and then lit our candles for prayers. 
  • Tai Chi Awards

    Two of Edale Primary School pupils have achieved their 'White Sash' in Tai Chi after attending after school Tai Chi class at Hope Primary School. Here they are receiving their sashes from their Tai Chi teacher.

    A Happy New Year for 2019! Swallows Class will be 'Blasting Off' with their Space Topic to start the New Year.  
  • Christmas jumper and Party Day

    Today we enjoyed Christmas Dinner, Swallow's Christmas Party and a visit from Father Christmas.
  • Nativity at Totley Farm

    Swallows Class joined Puffins Class from Hope Primary School for a Nativity at Totley Farm.  The children enjoyed dressing up and telling the Christmas Story complete with some lovely animals called Spirit, Molly and Dolly. 
  • Anti-Bullying Week & Children in Need

    Children at Edale School took part in a series of lessons and activities during anti-bullying week. The children discussed issues around bullying and also focused their attention on acts of kindness that they had experienced and added them to our 'Tree of kindness'. They ended the week with a busy morning at Hope School to celebrate 'Children in Need' where they dressed up, decorated cakes, made Pudsey faces and cracked Pudsey codes!
  • Our Remembrance Service

    We had a lovely service of remembrance at the church this morning. The children made medals to honour all the men from Edale who did not return home from the war. Our Year 6 Ambassadors read some of their own thoughtful poetry and we reflected on what an impact our soldier silhouettes had in the pews of the church. All children demonstrated the utmost respect during a moment of silence outside. 
  • Vote for Edale and Hope

    Please pop down to Buxton Express or Whaley Bridge Tesco to vote for 'Keeping Our Schools Moving'. If successful, we could be given up to £4000 towards the travelling costs between sites. There is no minimum spend - just ask for a token when you checkout!
  • Edale Primary School and Forest School Open Day Saturday 22nd September 12-4pm.

    Edale Primary School and our Forest School site 'Edale Island' had an Open Day on 22 September.

    The school was open from 12- 4pm where  Executive Head Teacher of Edale and Hope Primary School Miss Sam Fisher, Head of School at Edale Mrs Sally Winfield and Governors showed people around our fantastic village school and talked about the exciting opportunities that are available for your children.  There was also  an opportunity to visit our very own 'Forest School' site, 'Edale Island', where Forest School Leader Ruth Dixon, class teacher Mrs Jill Garmeson and current pupils showed visitors around the site and helped them enjoy some Forest School activities.
