• Butterfly release

  Having watched their development from tiny caterpillars into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies over the past few weeks, today we released them into our school garden, bidding them farewell and good luck in the next stage of their lives.

  

• Jack and Ella's trip to Derby Open Centre

  Jack and Ella joined children from years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 at Hope for a faith trail in Derby - organised by the Open Centre.

  They visited Derby Mosque and Derby Gurdwara and had some great workshops about pilgrimages and arabic writing. 

  

• Swallow's Class visit their namesake!

  Swallow's Class had an amazing visit to a local stables to watch a nest of beautiful young Swallows being fed by the adult birds. The children remained extremely quiet and became proficient in using their binoculars gaining some breathtaking sightings of the birds.

  As part of our class topic studying the area around Edale and the Hope Valley we went for a fantastic walk through Ollerbrook and up onto The Nab where we gained some amazing panoramic views.

  During our first gardening club we had fun making plant pots from newspaper, we relocated our strawberry plants into the raised bed and planted sunflower and sweet pea seed.

  We dressed up as characters from our favourite books to celebrate World Book Day. We took part in lots of book activities including story telling at Forest School.
